My wife and I drove down to Walnut MS the other night to pick up some " barnyard banties" as the fellow called them. we've been wanting to get some chickens for a long while and now we have our wish. It's awsome![IMG]
Has anyone seen a breed like this before? The guy has dozens of them and they all look just about the same. Got the whole family for $15.
Our two boys will be so exited. I can't wait.[IMG]

I think they're old english game bantams. No clue on the color. They're very pretty, though!

ETA: Looks like they may be mottleds. Most of the pics you'll see, the boys have their combs dubbed. Some do it for show, some do it b/c the combs are large and they won't sustain frostbite on them this way. You can use, I think, vaseline, on them to prevent that, too, though.

Hello from hot north Texas. My wife and I have a large family composed of 10 hens, 1 rooster, 5 dogs, 4 horses and 1 cat. I have been lurking quite a bit relearning chicken stuff and finally decided to join. Jake
