Hi,

I'm not really a country girl, but I'm getting to be. We live on 2 acres just down the street from ever-encroaching new subdivisions. So far, it's quiet here and there's room for some animals. We have 6 three-week old chicks and 5 hens that we got from a friend 4 days ago. These 5 hens are only laying every other day or less. Here is a list of their breeds (as far as I can tell).

Hens:
2 Brown Leghorns that lay white eggs
2 Barred Rocks that lay light brown eggs
1 White _____ that lays dark brown eggs

Chicks:
2 Easter Eggers
2 Delawares
1 Barred Rock
1 Blue Andalusian

Here are some pictures:

Please comment if you think my Barred Rocks look like something else! I'd also like help figuring out what breed the white one is.

Welcome to BYC!

You have a lovely flock! And congrats on the new chicks! I am not that good with breeds and IDing them. You can always post pics in our What Breed section for help with breeds...

Mountain Peeps has left you with a link to the learning center. Lots of great articles on all the aspects of raising your flock.

Great to have you aboard and enjoy all your babies!
