Hens go broody if and when their hormones tell them to do so. Some breeds infrequently go broody, and many hens never go broody. The fact that one hen goes broody is in no way affected by her flockmates. Just as hens need no rooster to go lay eggs, they need no rooster to go broody. Broody hens will leave the nest once a day or so to eat, drink, and defecate. You can lock her away from her nest site until she stops being broody.

[IMG] Please do see that she eats and drinks - maybe you could move a food and water bowl near here so she doesn't have to leave the nest. Some broodies will starve too death rather than leave the eggs.(real or imaginary)

You can post in detail her 'symptoms' on Emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread to get a second opinion on her condition.
