Hi everyone, my name is Anna and I'm new to raising chickens!
I've been around various farm animals and shamelessly used my two young daughters to guilt my husband into a small flock!
We started with 4 Rhode Island Red cross babies this spring and we're down to 1. One was grabbed by a neighbor dog (we're in the middle of no where Northern Michigan so it was a fluke) and two just disappeared one day. So we're in the process of incubating 12 more from a friends flock! If they all hatch my husband may just ask for a divorce LOL
I found this site as I was researching coops and raising hens and have found a lot of useful information.
We're a family of 4, with a female lab mix, we love the woods, the lakes and northern living!
