I had some people say this was a boy & others a girl on my last thread...
So I'm hoping better pictures & posting in a different area will help?
Is my little speckled sussex a boy or a girl?
    Opinions please!!??

I'm adding my 2 SS girls at 7 weeks for your comparison. Your bird seem a little more red in the comb, but to be honest I could tell my 2 were girls at 10 or 11 weeks, for now it does look like yours is more rooish than my were at that age.

Gidget was my very first layer, and she started early at 17 weeks 4 days old.

Thank you. & Those birds are so pretty!
& I really hope he/she isn't a boy.. because then that means I have to give him back to the guy we got him from. [IMG]

Going by comb size I'd say roo. I do have a Speckled Sussex pullet who has a very large comb but it wasn't as big as your bird's is at that age.

Wait a few weeks, I know that is hard but by 10 or so weeks I think you'll know by then.

I just love how speckled sussex look. Ya know? We originally went to a local breeder to buy easter egger chicks.. but I saw some of the adult SS he had walking around & he just happened to have a few of those chicks, too. So I came home with 7 EE's & 1 SS (that's why it's hard to tell what the gender is cuz I had nothing to compare to.) I don't wanna give em up, but they were all straight run & I'm only allowed to keep 4 of them. && my parent's said that they want all of the one's I'm not keeping gone & the one's that I am transitioning into the coop in the next few days. [IMG] .. Hopefully the breeder is really nice & lets me swap this one out for a girl. :)

    Thanks for your help. :)

My SS girl had a smaller comb than that but bigger wattles. Honestly, I think it's too early to tell on this one.
