Hi this is shelter9:14. I’m a returning member but haven’t been on for a couple of years.

I have an old rooster who lost his last hen companion about 4 months ago. Does anyone have any thoughts about if he should have a couple of new hens brought in or if he is better left alone?

Is December or January an okay time to do that? Where would be a good place to go to find out about getting hens that are already of egg laying age?
