Hope this finds who ever reads this happy and warm. Cold temperatures are fast approaching where I live. During the winter temps can go down to - 20C or even colder at times. I hope someone can offer advice on how to keep our chickens warm and what would be the lowest albeit still comfortable temp that chickens can tolerate. Thanks and looking forward to some sound advice.

[IMG] A coop that is not drafty and is well insulated is the key. Along with some vents to let in fresh air. The north and west should be closed off. A water heater or a heat lamp may be needed but observe caution with electricity. This coop & run section may be a good place to start https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/206328/byc-coop-section-helpful-thread-index one of my all time favorites https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/445004/woods-style-house-in-the-winter/10 start from the beginning, There is lots of information and some links too.
