Hello all... I finally joined after hearing about all the good information that's on this website. I currently have 30 Rhode Island hens, a RI Rooster, 4 Buff Cochin hens, 2 Americauna (Easter) hens, a Easter/RI rooster and 4 Easter/RI hens. I am currently crossing my Easter hens with my RI rooster VIA incubator and I must say I am growing some beautiful birds who lay BIG green eggs. The roosters are drop dead gorgeous. The drawback is that I have found that the roosters are not nice to the ladies, actually kinda violent. Not sure what's up with that... anyway, I'm sure you'll hear from me again. Take care.

Welcome, from Minnesota. Young cockrels can be rough, and clumsy with hens. They should get better with experience.
