    i am very new to owning chickens. i have 5 baby chicks, not really sure the breeds. but i have loads of questions!!

    The Learning center is the best place to start a chicken education. As to breeds, etc. when your chicks are 6 weeks old you can post photos at "what breed or gender is this."[​IMG]

    Welcome to BYC!!! As noted above, the "What breed/gender" forum is a great place to post so we can help you sort out the ID on your babies -- while 6+ weeks is when things are really clear, many breeds can be ID'd even as day-olds so if you can't stand the wait post now and then again later -- it's not like anyone here gets tired of looking at chicken pictures.

    Regardless of what breed your chicks are, they are always fun. Remember to take lots of pictures, they don't stay small very long!
