Nope, not at all, all my chickens are still in separate flocks, then hens in one and the CM mixes in the Other, I managed to catch him and get him into the hen house, he still hasnāt been able to getHope that he survived the night. Are there other birds in the flock that have been intimidating/attacking him?
They all have different roosting spots, Cowboy is just to small to t up on them, the younger hens have the top door and my older hen has the bottom door, there are four doors with a plank of wood blocking off between them and a ton of fences, heās actually the only one my hens wonāt peck at, I think they might know heāll end up the dominant oneI agree with @sourland most likely he is being bullied at roosting time. You might go out a bit before roosting and get him in the coop. Watch what is going on with the dynamics of the flock, its not safe to roost outside. Handsome boy!
This is where they rooster, very high off the groundI agree with @sourland most likely he is being bullied at roosting time. You might go out a bit before roosting and get him in the coop. Watch what is going on with the dynamics of the flock, its not safe to roost outside. Handsome boy!
Yeah, thats what Iām trying to get, at 8pm they all go to the coopWell no matter where they roost and how friendly they are to each other, you need to train him to sleep inside the closed coop at night. Predators will eventually get him if allowed to sleep outside.
Get out there a bit earlier too, food is a huge motivator to come close enough to catch!Yeah, thats what Iām trying to get, at 8pm they all go to the coop
it is for my young hens but not them, theyāre way to skittish to come close to meGet out there a bit earlier too, food is a huge motivator to come close enough to catch!
