Watching all the girls wander the yard, a hierarchy stands out.

  • Fuzzy Butt & Boobies are the graceful matrons.
  • Shirley, Susan & Sparkles are busy bodies, and want to be in everyone’s business.
  • Oreo, Blaze & Licorice are the young ladies trying to act dignified.
  • Loppy, Starr, Flo, Estrella, Domino, Penny & Honey are the giggling, bickering teens-always wanting what the others have.

From Fuzzy to Honey this is the pecking order.

Fuzzy Butt-Buff Orpington
Boobies- Columbine Wyandotte
Shirley-Easter Egger(Partridge coloring)
Susan-Easter Egger(Partridge coloring)
Sparkles- Silver Lakenvelder
Oreo- Barred Rock
Blaze-Rhode Island Red
Licorice-Cuckoo Maran
Loppy-White Rock(with one black barred feather on her right wing)
Starr-Black Star
Flo-White Rock
Estrella-Black Star
Domino-White Faced Black Spanish
Penny-Buff Orpington
Honey-Buff Orpington

The first 5 are a year, the next three were hatch 12/11, Domino was 2/12 and the rest of the girls mid March 2012. We do live in the city so we do have a limit. Luckly for me my in-laws live just 3 doors down. So we do some rotating. But all the girls are home-so coops can be cleaned and yards can be mowed.

We gotta see pictures of your gals! Interesting how each chicken has a distinct personality.

This is my drama queen screaming she is going to lay her egg. All creatures great and small know when she's laying an egg.

This is little sister. She is the drill sergeant of the flock. She controls the egg laying production by insisting every one lay in one nest box.

This trio hears no evil, sees no evil, and speaks no evil

Askew is the curious one.

Double Trouble. These two like to join forces to rule the roost.

And we all know Stan The Man. He struts his stuff all the time.

And intimidates an apple seed with his death glare
