[IMG] My friend has A Barred Plymouth Rock hen and a Polish Crested Roo!! I was telling her on MONDAY I am going to be starting my 2 dozen RIR eggs in incubator!! she said she had fertile eggs from these 2 and was curious to see what they would look like..

AND being the chick-a-holic that i am said "I'll come pick them up!! I am also curious !! "

I am wondering if anyone else has hatched this cross and if they have pics!! [IMG]

    Hi there -

We recently hatched out a young roo on Easter weekend that was a cross between a Silver Laced Polish Roo and a Barred Rock hen. As a chick he developed a perfect mowhawk, unfortunately I didn't keep up very well with the picture taking. Here he is as a young chick:

    And here he is today:

Pardon the breakfast on his beak [IMG] He's lean like his Polish dad and just slightly skittish. His crest feathers aren't too full, but are long and flop forward whenever he puts his head down. I'm not sure what your combination would look like, but it's certainly fun to experiment!

With a Barred Rock mom, the males will be barred to some degree and the females should be solid colored, I believe. BR hens pass barring to only their sons. What color is the Polish rooster?

    Morgan7782 - Thanks! He's quite a character [IMG]

afishel - Thanks, and you're very welcome. Sadly we do not have any hens of that
particular combination. Hopefully you will be able to show us what the girls would look like [IMG]
