Homemade Bator, pan of water for humidity in top OK?

Hi, I am making a Incubator out of an old cooler and was thinking of putting the pan of water on the top of a shelf above the eggs. What do you folks think? Do you think that it would work fine or should I just put it in the bottom. Thanks alot. I can't wait to get it working.

Are you making a still air bator or a forced air bator? I'd think that a forced air bator would work just fine with the water pan on top.

I am putting a computer fan in it for air circulation.

I think that would be fine... Just be sure the computer fan is not under powered. I bought a cheap voltage-adjustable AC adapter to maintain my desired speed. But in short, the humidity and heat should be circulated by the fan.
