I was bored so I made this.
Good idea on that egg turner!! I am making one myself and wondering about painting it? Started to, then thought about the fumes. Did you decide to leave yours raw for any special reason? Thought it would be easier to keep clean with bathroom enamel?? ....stan
Quote:I did see any reason to tie it into the house. .......Lol
i am in the proccess of tuning it in. I dont like the fact the the hot water heater thermo fluctuattes so much it goes from 101° down to 85° . To me thats abit much. Anyone else think so?
my hwh thermostat has holes drilled into it, so it is great it fluctuates NONE not point of a degree, it is just awesome

Move the thermostat closer to the light and offset it from the wall so you get better air flow all around it. With it closer to the light you will pick up better radient heat and it should cycle faster. ........stan
here's a link that may help. https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=26580-thermostat-modification I think I may be able to find another good one too. Found it.
http://cmfarm.us/WHTincubator.html If those two don't do it, I'd buy a wafer type.
added thermal mass will help with fluctuation. I also positioned my t-stat so that the metal back is facing the bulbs and about 3 inches away. I get temps 99.0-99.9. I also found that where I positioned the fan made a big difference in terms of localized temperatures.
PS: Great work on the turner! i like that idea.
Quote:I dont get how you did that can you help me. I moved the tstat closer but it doesnt help.
