Hello every body, we have often watched but till today never joined in. Our four year old chicken Daisy lives by herself in a coop in our garden. She stopped laying eggs over six months ago. this morning she seemed very happy in her free time in the garden but we noticed this horrible thing hanging out her bottom (vent?) I dont think I can post photos being a new member, so here is a link to my flicker page. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/6062435742) I have read about prolapsed oviducts, not convinced this is what she has. This thing also has what looks like a hole in it but no blood. Daisy looks very happy otherwise. It feels from what I read that we should push it back in and nappy her. but I also wonder if its safer to leave her alone? Is this photo enough for any one to conclude what the problem is? Thanks everyone. I am not much good with animals but do contribute on a few Motorbike and car forums as a mechanic.
