so my horses arrived here in Missouri from California today! YAY!
Parker, Kegger, KC (belgians), Morris (retired TB) and Devon (clyde/stndbred cross), all happy and hanging out in the pasture, munching on the hay bales as big as they are.
I am delighted and relieved.
and.
George didn't make it. Got off the van yesterday in Oklahoma, romped with his buddies, settled down to dinner... and half an hour later, wobbled, went down, and was gone in less than 5 minutes. vet says probably a cardiac or pulminary embolism. no warning, nothing we or the shipper could have done, or anticipated. nothing a vet could have done, had he been standing right there when George went down. Bless the shippers, they even did CPR (not so easy on a draft horse) to no avail.
RIP in your okahoma pasture, my Curious George.
9 year old Clyde / Perch cross, Canadian PMU rescue, and my smart, sweet 2000 lb puppy dog.

I'll post a photo of George tonight.
