    Looooove Capybaras. The really awesome book author and Disney animator, Bill Pete, has a book about his experiences with one in "capyboppy". The ending may upset some though. But, if you can meet their needs and have a lifestyle that allows you to take care of them, they can be awesome companions.

    capys make me smile, i always visualize that if a realy big rat and a realy tiny hippo made love, thats what the babies would look like...

    but seriously, if you look at the face especially that front on pic, theres something very hippo-rattish about them [​IMG] and when you see them wallowing through the water...
    yup, giant rat and tiny hippo babies! they even have hoppo like feet with those 3 splayed toes [​IMG]
