Guinea fowl are around the same size as most standard hens. As far as noise imagine a car alarm going off all the time.

How old are they when they get REALLY LOUD? Mine are 10 weeks old and they're not loud at all. My one Call duck female makes more noise than all 8 guineas.

as long as the neighbors don't complain you'll get used to the guinea noise & not really notice it until they get close to the house.the only time my guineas get loud is at roosting time & when something out of the ordinary is in the yard.

& when something out of the ordinary is in the yard.

yeah, like a leaf blowing or a cloud or maybe someting really weird like, I don't know, the wind blowing. Other than that though, they're quiet as church mice. [IMG]

I don't really notice it until feeding time, then it gets defeaning. I have 20 guineas in a pasture with 10 African geese and three male donkeys. When I say feeding time is loud, I mean end of the world, apocalypse has arrived kind of loud. Then a dead silence as everyone chows down.
