More video coming as I start framing coop walls tomorrow. But on the topic of feeders, what kind and how big for about 12 hens?

Ill post a picture tomorrow afternoon but i use a PVC feeder for my chickens and it works great! i never have poop in the feeder and it is really easy to fill! It is made 50" of 4" pvc, 1 90 degree elbow, and 2 caps. I have 6 to 9 birds in a pen and it works great!

I agree that bigger is better. You will have to fill less often, which makes your life easier. I personally like making my own out of wood and PVC so I can fill it from outside the coop and store more in it to feed even less. I find the hanging feeders to be combersome and more of a pain but they work fine.

Yep - I favor the big feeder. Made mine out of a rectangular trash can...holds 50+ pounds of feed. Works quite well.

I'm not really sure I have 9 birds in a pen and it lasts them a week or more I think like 15 lbs or more ill try to find out. It works really well, cheap and easy to make!

The second picture is the one with 9 birds in a coop.

Hey Marc nice seeing you back. My feeder last for a full week with 8 kids. Its a 3 Gallon grain and water feeder

Here is the Feeder but I put a large pan under it so they can not poop or scratch and have recently put and old dish on the top to prevent them from eating out of the top.

Might as well show you the water bucket also. I do recommend when buying a feeder put a tall conical lid on it to prevent them from perching and pooping in the food or water Marc
