How big should the chicken door be?

    We, well my wonderful husband that is.. finished building the metal shed that we will be using as a coop.[​IMG] Now we have to cut some windows, venting and a chicken door into it.

    Our girls are Standards(Buff Orps and a Black Cochin.)

    After we get this done we are building their run, roosts and nesting boxes.

    Also. Can you paint a metal shed? While my daughter really likes the "Hershey" brown color of the trim I really want to do something "cute" around the windows and such

    My door is 12wx14h inches. My birds are all standard breeds. You probably just need to prime the metal before you paint. [​IMG]
