I bought (what I was told anyway) 3 brahma bantams in early October that have grown into what I believe are full-size cochins. They are almost as big/tall as my BR's at 18-20 inches in height and are approx 18 weeks old. I do know that these are cochins from their combs but would like to know if these are indeed bantam cochins? I always thought bantams only grew to about 12 inches.

They may be poor bantams. To big. Standards are about 3-4 " taller then Barred rocks.

Thanks! That helps out a lot being able to compare the size of a standard cochin to my BR rooster. If they don't get any bigger I will assume they were bad breeding but they sure are nice looking birds. 2 gold laced and 1 blue partridge.

LF SQ cochins and brahmas are very large and will get larger than LF BRs.

Cochins & Brahmas also grow slower so they very well indeed be standard, at 18 wks they would be smaller than a med barred rock.
