How can I tell it my two adult emus are male or female?

how can I tell if my two adult emus are male or female, I've been looking up stuff for a while now before posting this so I'm pretty sure it's a boy and a girl but I'm also not sure

the sound they make! males .....grow and the females boom! i think thats the way it goes! lol well if one booms like a drum and the other one grows you have male and female! lol how old are they? will this be there first time breeding? you will REALLY know in the next couple months they should be pairing up then the dancing should start and look for breeding THEN come like december you may start getting eggs! just be on he look out for avocados in the pen lol

I'm not sure how old they are I got them from my friend and I'm sure there at least somewhere between 3-5+ years, I've had them scince April-may probably longer(don't remember) but they've just been together with each other here for that long
