I know its not 100% accurate but how can you tell what gender a baby (1- 5 days old) is?
All you can really do is guess - odds are 50-50
That depends on the breed of chick. Some will be different in color or markings. Some can be wing sexed by feather length, most can't. And there is vent sexing, but there are lots of genital presentations that can make it very hard to tell. So the short answer is- you probably can't and most people won't be able to help you ID the chick until at least 6 weeks old with any certainty.
Thanks I thought as much.... If I can narrow down the breed would that help?
It might, but even then there is room for error.
