My husband bought me 2 RIR chicks on Apr 7, but didn't ask how old they were? Is there any way to tell? How do I know when to switch from grow mash to lay mash and how will I know when they can be moved to a coop outside for night times?

I'm so glad I found this site...there is so much great info!

    Thanks!!!

Can you post some pictures? Age can be "guessed" by how far feathered out they are, waddle and comb development, size, etc.

pictures would be great! However, they still sound WAY young and don't need the finisher or layer until after 18 weeks old. So you will have a while still.
