How do I cure chickens for laying eggs on the roost?

When I go out in the morning i keep finding 2 eggs broken on the ground under the roost.I know it is the same chickens because the eggs are in the same spot every time in early morning.does anyone know how to cure chickens of this habit?

How old are these chickens? How long has this been going on? They are regular eggs, not soft/no shelled? Sounds like their laying schedule is off, not unusual for pullets starting to lay or older birds getting back into laying. if they "have" to lay an egg in the middle of the night they are just going to drop it where they are roosting, it is not a habit as such. Do you have them on supplemental lighting?
