    Hello,
I am new to the idea of raising chickens. I am doing my research now. Where do I find out if it is legal to have chickens in my town? I have looked online and found other towns but nothing for my own (Leicester, Ma). I have attempted to contact animal control but have not yet received a response. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I live in Auburn...I just called the town hall and asked, I tried looking at the bylaws online and it was a little to confusing for me(just how they want it I'm sure) ... so I just called the towns code enforcement officer and he told me we could have them but only 4 and NO rooster and I had to get a permit!

They have a good portion of the laws and ordinances in the country.
