how do I get the smell of decomp out of my house? poor hammy

My DD had a hamster who was about 3-5 years old.

I came in from work tonight and the smell in my house was HORRID

so I went sniffin with my supernose and could not find the source of the smell till we went to do our friday night critter feeding/cleaning chore critters= snakes, hamsters, reptiles get fed monday wednesday and friday, but friday is also hamster cleaning night well lets say hammy was cold and stiff and did not eat anything since wednesday. (i feel bad but he was probably dead on wednesday and i didnt notice it cause i did the feeding late at night and he was up in his habittrail globe)

so we had his funeral in the yard he is buried next to the dog and a few chickens... but how do I get this smell out of my house?

You may have to burn the house....

um..i dont know..maybe febreeze?? baking soda in a bowl in the room... burn a candle(for Hammy AND the smell..

ventilation is the best answer. You have removed the source burning a candle might help as well. That is a bad smell.

If you had an attic fan, I'd suggest using that for about 30 minutes too...but you'd probably put yourself in the fireplace just to keep the ice out of your nostrils!
