SO i JUST saw a video on hatching eggs and was suprised to find there still attached to the umbilical cord upon hatching. since i plan to hatch a few eggs soon i NEED to know whats the least painful and most comfortable way for EVERYONE to do it??

Hi I wouldn't try to separate them from the egg unless it looks like they are having trouble with an un absorbed yolk sac they may still have blood vessels in the cord and if you cut them your chick could bleed to death tying it off if it has a damaged yolk sac would be best. Some chicks hatch with still being attached to the egg and some don't try to let nature take its course I have had them still dragging the egg around the incubator behind them. They naturally dry up and become detached from the shell. Hope this helps good luck with your hatch.
