How do I tell a newborn duckling's gender without sexing?

    You can tell by color in sex linked hatchings. Welsh Harlequins can be sexed by bill color. Other than that I believe they have to be vent sexed.

    i vent sex my chick some times it easy when they first hatch but as they get older it get harder

    I meant without vent sexing as ducklings

    Only certain breeds will have sex linked plumage. Vent sexing is the more certain way to go early on, but even that is problematic if you are not experienced at that job.

    I just wait until they get older and start quacking. It is really not that long 3 to 4 weeks.

    Agreed, but might be a tad bit longer, but if you pay close attention, you should be able to tell. Plus males are generally larger.
