I am new to chicken keeping. I got 4 chicks in March, one I lost to my dog. Then one ended up being a rooster so now I have 2. I traded the rooster for another hen, same age and from same place i got my others. I've had the new hen for 24 hours and I've been letting her free range with the other 2. They keep chasing her away and picking on her. Then at night the others go in the coop on their own but she wont because she's scared. So i was chasing her around at 10pm trying to catch her to put her in. The original 2 slept in the enclosed hen house and the new one slept in the run by itself. Again tonight the new one is bedded down in the yard and wont go in the coop. What do i do? Will they ever be nice to the new one? I cant chase her around every night in the dark to get her in the coop. Do i have to give her back and get 2 together instead?

Use the "see but don't touch" method. Put some wire or a screen to separate her from the others, but so that they can still see her. Give her a personal food and water. You could let her out after a 2 weeks. Hope this is helpful!
