How do you add more eggs to a broody nest?

[IMG] I think [IMG] one of my girls might be going broody. She has been on the nest since yesterday about 2ish. Well she was sitting on it when I got home and this morning is still there.

Am I able to add a couple eggs to her nest without disrupting her too bad?

Yes, if she is truly broody then it shouldn't be an issue. Just make sure you count your fingers afterwards. [IMG]

Yup, it's amazing how scared we all are of a broody's beak! Try slipping them under her in the dark. She can't bite what she can't see.

Also, be sure to mark the eggs if she's where other birds can lay. Other hens will sneak new eggs into her nest.
