how do you end broody behavior?

I have one that seem she would rather be broody than not. I have a dog crate. I put it up on bricks so its a few inches off the ground. (take out the pan or tray so she is sitting/walking on the wire. The idea is to get air circulating around her bottom) I put food and water in the cage and in goes Rex. I leave her in there for about 4 days. Then return her to the coop after dark. Usually that works. If not back in the crate she goes. She hates it but If I don't do it she would sit on an empty nest forever. (I don't have a roo and collect the eggs every day).

Good luck,

Peggy
