The more you get yourself out here on BYC, the more people get to know you. So hang out in the places you can answer lots of questions, welcome in the newbies, post pics of your flock, complement other members, their coops or flocks, and pretty soon everybody will say, "Here comes Sienatiger"! Just hang around for about ten years like me. Though I think any popularity I had left waned after I started back at grad school!

X2 on TwoCrow's advice. A good place to start is greeting the new members in the New Member section. Don't just copy and past the same routine reply to all the New Member greetings. Read their posts and give personal replies on whatever interests them, and spend some time answering whatever questions they may have that you can answer. Give honest complements their decisions and choices (don't lie in an attempt to be popular), and let them know you care about what happens with them.
