When they do their little dominance dance, and then go about their business. How do you know who won? Is it the one who looks away first or last? Or is there some other clue?[IMG]

Quote:I look first at tail, then head. Subordinate will collapse tail and usually hold it either near vertical or near horizontal. Dominant with have tail usually at 45 degree angle and more spread. Subordinate will usually hold head lower with neck in tighter S-shape. Sometimes hackles can be informative as well, more expanded mean more dominant.

I have a young, up and coming pullet, and I'm trying to figure out how she's doing. I will watch the tail.
