How do you know when to move them from the brooder box to the coop?

Depends on your weather, type of coop. I'm here in Texas where it is hot. This time of year, I move them to a grow out pen in my barn at 4-5 weeks. You would not want them in an outdoor coop at this age without good shelter from cool nights and storms. A good rain storm would still kill them because they don't have enough brains to come in out of the rain.

I live in Minnestoa, and put mine outside to free range at six weeks. They are not always smart enough to get out of the rain, but they are feathered out enough to take it.

I don't know if I did it right, but mine came out of the brooder at 3 weeks and into a small mobile coop for 2 weeks, then into their coop with run. They are fat, trying to fly, and love the sun
