How do you pronounce Wyandotte?

    I have 2 Silver-laced and 1 Golden-laced Wyandotte, sure would be nice if I knew the correct pronunciation, lol.

    I alway thought it was why-ann-dot? If it's not, Id like to know too.

  4. Depends on what part of the country you are from. I have always pronounced it wye-an-dote. Some pronounce it wye-an-dot.

    Um I think I always used to pronounce it wrong until I actually met chicken people one time. We always used to call them winn-a-dote (why - I don't know?), evidently other people call them wine-dot? I've only ever read the word until this past April and that was the first and only other time I had heard the word until today.

    It's a native American name, if I'm not mistaken, pronounced WYE-un-dot, with the emphasis on the first syllable.

    My first inclination was Why An Dotte. Then is was Why An Dot. Then someone told me it is WINEdot. Can someone help me for certain.
