Is it AURA-kana? ah-RAU-ka-na? arauk-NA?
I've always said "ah-rau-ka-NA"
I don't know what the proper is, but I pronounce it the way you do.
In my head I've always pronounced it with the accent on the middle syllable. But I've never had to say the word out loud, or heard it out loud, for that matter, because the only people I know who have chickens are YOU GUYS!
Go to this website, pick the name of an English speaking person on their list, type your word in the blank, and turn up your sound . It's a great way to learn how to pronounce things.
According to Dictionary.com , it is pronounced ar-uh-kah-nuh
cruelshoes, that's the way I've always pronounced it. I have always been good with spelling, etc, but it was weird to hear the different speakers on the website I mentioned say it differently than each other. I still will say Ar uh KAH nuh.
Thanks You All...I tried that website and it is pronounced the way my friend Gail does Ah-rAU-Kana!
