[ How old is a hen when it can go through its first moult? I have pullets(black stars) who over the summer lost so many feathers that the floor of the coop was completely covered.
This went on for at least a month.
Now its not so bad, they have never begun egglaying to begin with so I can't go by whether they went through a true moult.
They are 21 weeks now, but they were about 15-16 weeks when they lost so many feathers./b]
