We just bought some golden sex link chicks from our local co op. Are they good layers? We have black and brown sex links. I was wondering if we should invest in them. We have a good set up for raising chicks.
    Thanks for the help, Caleb

I think they are reckoned to be great layers - likely the reason the parent breeds ( some hatcheries get them by crossing RIR males and RI White females) were crossed to begin with.

We've had chickens for 2 years and we 25 -30 chickens. We have 10 -11 red sex link pulets, 6 Amaricauna, 3 RIR and a hole bunch of other chickens. We've been looking for good chickens that lay. Are RIR lay realy good and are olive egger lays really good to and are amaricauna lays small egs but every day. But we need a chicken that lays big eggs and consistantly.
    Thanks, Caleb

The chicks that you just purchased should suit your needs as far as good producers of large brown eggs. Welcome to BYC.
