I have a question regarding the hatched chicks.

If I have 30 eggs incubating and 6 are not fertile and get them out, when I get the chicks how is it measured.

Seen 50% hatch rate but do not know if the not fertile eggs are counted in this %.

Lets say of the 24 remaining I got 20 chicks do I:

    1. Say had 20 from 24 = 83%

    or

    2. Say had 20 from 30 = 66%

    ?

    Thanks.

Hatch rates are calculated using the total number of viable eggs. Infertile eggs are not counted.
