How long before my chicks can have new foods?

My chickens really enjoy all kinds of fresh produce. My chicks are about two weeks inks and I was wondering how long before the babies can start enjoying fresh treats?

I always introduce chick grit, or even parakeet grit several days before food, then I stick to greens and softer stuff until about 3-4 weeks old. I don't know if this is right, but it seems to work for me.
