I wouldn't leave one that I butchered myself more than 4 or 5 days and store bought gets no more than 2 days before cooking or freezing.
72 hours is the max for fresh meat or leftovers, per food service regulations.
I bought a fresh turkey from the grocery store yesterday, I don't have any turkeys ready yet, and it said "sell before Nov. 29th.
I was told 7-10 days in fridge from fresh by people on here.
