MY HENS JUST STARTED TO LAY AND I WAS WONDERING HOW LONG DO FRESH EGGS LAST.
Not very long, the kids wont stop eating them.

Somebody did an experiment, testing different methods of preserving fresh eggs. I think it might have been Mother Earth News. Refrigerating them was the best method and they were still good at 6 months. They were still edible after that, but there was more loss of quality after that. I believe this was for unwashed, fresh eggs, with the bloom still on. There were comments on flavor, texture and aroma. The eggs were sampled several different times, during the experiment. I don't have a link handy, or I'd post it. If anyone has a link, please post it. It was interesting reading.
