How long do hens live for on average?

    New to chicken keeping and just wondered, I've hear many ages from different people and thought I'd ask the people who know best!

    I’d say most succumb to disease/injury, or end up in the stew pot before the live out their actual life expectancy.

    It would be interesting know know though.

    One of our neighbors, who was here long before us, said that our feral rooster was about 13 when he finally died.

    the info that i have looked up they live to be 15 yrs old, assuming that nothing happens in the mean time, i hope this helps:D
