How long do you wait for calibrating hygrometer?

How long do you leave it in with the salt/water? I tried to do it last night and got a funny reading. Then I noticed the battery was dying, so I changed the batteries, and started over with the salt and water. Seems to be working fine now, but how long do I wait?

I believe it was 12 hours but hopefully one of the experts can confirm.

Well it's been 7 hours and its decreasing now. It went as high as 72 and now it's sitting at 68.

Do I take the highest setting and figure on that? Or do I wait, and take whatever reading it is after 12 hours?

I let mine go 12 hours the first time and then overnight when something just seemed off (about another 12 to 14 hours) after a day in the bator.

It is usually 12 hrs. After that, you either add or subtract from 75...that's how far its off.
