How long does it take for a roo to fertilize a hen?

Please forgive my stupid question but my roo is really a Speedy Gonzalez, if you know what I mean. Talk about wham-bam-thank you mame. I'm talking no more than 5-10 seconds. I have to wonder if I will ever get fertilized eggs with him. Is the process really that quick or is he just fumbling? He's almost 2 yrs old.
