How long for my rooster to heal from lice?

So I found out that my rooster had lice so I've been treating him, the coop, and the rest of the flock just in case. I've been using manna pro poultry protector, a home made spray, and sprinkled some diatomaceous earth everywhere. I have only seen lice on him but I'm still treating everyone just in case and it's my first time dealing with it. What's worrying me is that his skin almost looks worse? I found the lice because he went to do his lady dance and I saw his butt looked red so I nabbed him and the skin all around his vent looked red. I just checked today and i can't see any lice anymore at all but his skin is still heavily red and irritated and it even goes up to his mid "stomach" area. Is there anything that I can put on his skin to help? And how long will it take for him to get back to normal?

Are you certain you're dealing with lice and not coop mites? Lice feed off of skin dander and dead skin flakes. Mites feed off of blood of the chicken and can cause anemia and skin irritation.

While dusting lice with poultry powder is usually sufficient, treating coop mites requires a more thorough approach, including each chicken as well as spraying the coop in all cracks and crevices with a poultry approved insecticide such as permethrin spray or spinosad (Elector PSP)

I'm pretty certain it's lice I mean I saw them on him and there are lice eggs built around some of his feathers near his vent. I've been checking everyone in the flock too and he's the only one with it no one else but I've still been spraying everyone and I dusted everyone too. I no longer see any bugs on him but his skin just looks so irritated. I don't see any evidence of mites like scabs or anything on his legs. I've also been treating the whole coop inside and out spraying it and bedding. The spray I'm using is also supposed to kill mites as well and I also made a home spray with some dawn soap, vinegar, oil, and water whitch should kill both as well. Should I put anything on his irritated skin like maybe some coconut oil?

None of these will kill a lice infestation.
Get some permethrin dust or spray and treat 3 times at 7 day intervals.

How long ago did you notice this and start your treatment? You asked how long it should take, but didn’t actually say how long it’s already been.

And I agree with the others, you need a mite spray with permethrin.

My go to product is permethrin weekly treatments for 3 or 4 weeks. I use the concentrate but I have several coop and when I do one coop, I thoroughly spray inside all of the coops. Some mites only come out at night and feed on the birds so you may not see them during the day. Elector PSP is good too but very expensive and in my opinion Permethrin works just as well. I use the poultry dust in the nest boxes and there is no egg withdrawal period. Good luck...
