how long from pip to zip

The chick pip about 4 hours ago but only a small portion of the shell came off and the membrane wasnt broken yet. About an hour ago he poked a small hole in the membrane but hasnt done anything since. how long before he will come out or atleast start poking out more?
when should I help?

about 24 hours it should be completly hatched

24 hours or longer, just as stated a by the other poster. They rest, learn to breathe and finish absorbing the yolk sacs. Patience and no opening the bator til your hatch is finished.

That's why you find something else to do with your time. lol Read a good book, watch TV or a movie or go for a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggg walk.

It is so hard to wait! I know. But be sure your humidity is up to par and do not open the bator for any reason now! You dont want to ruin your whole hatch. Best of luck with you new peeps! I hope you get a good hatch! JEN

I had 13 pips at 10am this morning, now it is 9 pm and 7 have hatched - SPEEDY!

he got a lot of the shell of of him but now he started to peel the white membrane off of himself and then he started bleeding! what happened and why did he start to bleed!
