I have an old barn with a closed in feed house that Ive converted into a coop. The room itself is about 15'x15' square. My run is made from a 10x10 chain link dog kennel attached to the feed house/coop. How many chickens could I fit comfortably into that space?

  2. Healthy hens are happy hens. I would say 10 (Full sized birds) or maybe 13 bantams. You CAN fit more but with a 100 sf run any more than 10 is going to get crowded. 10 sf per bird in the run is a good standard to follow. If you free range em during the day obviously you can pack em in. 225 sf in the hen house could easily sleep over 50 birds.

    Wish ya the best.
