How many chicks fit

How many chicks fit into a 8 x 12 coop? We have 8 girls but almost see the need for more.....how many more will fit?

19 (5 sqft/bird). If you have a run or free range, I wouldn't be afraid to go a little higher.

The rule of thumb for minimum space requirement is 4 square feet per bird, unless you have bantams, then you can half that. For outside space, it is 10 square feet minimum per bird. More is always better as you will get less fighting, picking, etc.
